Aloha Pumehana Pacific Voyagers,

We wish to take this time to honor you all, our Brothers and Sisters of Polynesia and the Pacific and all those of like spirit, on your great journey of hope.  When you arrived on our shores we were able to share, even if only in small part, the incredible inspiration that you all bring. We offer our deepest gratitude for your courage, strength, vision and Aloha! For we recognize, you take this journey for the greater good of the Honua (Earth) and all its inhabitants, including our beloved Kanaloas (Marine Mammals and Ocean `Ohana).

As we here on Hawai`i Island and across Ka Pae `Āina, prepare for our legal proceeding to save our sacred Mountain – known as Mauna Kea or Mauna a Wakea, we draw so much inspiration from your journey of hope and Aloha.  Mauna Kea represents many things to the people, as it is the abode of the Akua (supreme Creator), the place where Papa (Earth Mother) and Wākea (Sky Father) come together, and where the Akua (gods), retrieved the knowledge of the Heavens and brought it down to the people, so they could learn the ways of the Heavens and keep the laws of the Aloha `Āina, (love of the land and seas) alive.

While we cannot express our deep gratitude in a simple letter, please know that you are in our prayers of Aloha from Mauna Kea and we pray for the successful completion of your great journey and your safe return to your home islands and `Ohana.

Aloha nō,

Ms. Kealoha Pisciotta, President of KAHEA
