HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The City has ordered SER trucking to immediately stop dumping sludge from the Hawaii Kai Marina at a site it owns in Waianae.

That order came Friday afternoon following complaints from residents and environmentalists that the company was illegally dumping there without a permit.

In its notice of violation, the City says that the company has been grading without a permit.

Environmental activist Carroll Cox says it's not known if the sludge from the Hawaii Kai Marina contains any toxic materials and calls the dumping an example of "environmental injustice."

SER and marina officials say they have proper permits.

Hawaii Kai Marina Community Association President Robert Clark on Thursday said the project has already been halted.
