StoryCorps looking for people with stories in Hawai'i

StoryCorps has been gathering and archiving stories from “regular” people since 2003. A 40-minute interview is taped, archived in the Library of Congress, and the pair listening/telling gets a CD copy. A small percentage of these interviews, with permission, are edited into 2-minute versions and played on Public Radio.

You can LISTEN to some of these amazing stories on the StoryCorps
website. This year, StoryCorps will come to Hawai‘i to conduct tapings
over about a 5 week period. Hawai‘i People’s Fund has been asked to be
a community partner and help bring forward the PEOPLE’s stories.

Do you have things to share with a loved one? Is there someone you
want to spend an hour with talking and asking questions? Let’s be sure
the full range of Hawaii is represented in this effort! Please contact
Hawai‘i People’s Fund by April 1st if you want to participate. Email
peoples@lava.net or call us at 593-9969.
