Today, a new generation of cultural practitioners, farmers and entrepreneurs are working to change laws forbidding the sale of pai ‘ai--laws which say this sacred food is "unsafe for public consumption." Read an update on these efforts from Aunty Penny Levin.

Last fall, a bundle of regulatory rollbacks were proposed for conservation lands in Hawai`i. Hundreds stood up in opposition, and the majority of these rollbacks were abandoned. Help close the last three remaining loopholes, and stand up for the strongest possible protections for Hawai`i's conservation lands.

Solar Telescope Development Contested

The Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation of Hawai`i (NHLC) has filed a legal action on behalf of Kilakila `O Haleakalā, a Native Hawaiian community organized toward the protection of the sacred summit of Haleakalā on Maui, against the University of Hawai`i (UH) and the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).
